Learning Objectives

  • Learners will articulate a variety of indicators or dimensions of diversity.
  • Demonstrate openness to new perspectives and diverse others.
  • Listen while withholding judgment about the new or unfamiliar.
  • Demonstrate communication skills that enable intercultural communication, including effective listening skills.
  • The learner will integrate the foundational theory of diversity into workplace practice.
  • Learners can integrate CAC accreditation standards for diversity and articulate centre-based compliance mechanisms.
  • Recognize and critically reflect upon one’s own culture, gender, age, and other biases.
  • Harness the power of diversity through inclusive communication and perspective taking as a source for creativity, innovation, and/or productive collaboration.
