Learning Objectives
The Learning Module is meant to teach, guide and support new Facilitators in presenting the YSAC Life is Sacred suicide prevention and life promotion training to First Nation communities, organizations and Treatment Centre Staff. The basic belief in this training is that suicide prevention and life promotion should be addressed by comprehensive, broad programming and that all individuals can play a role in suicide prevention with awareness and education.
Some of the key goals of this training are to:
- Provide facilitators with a training guide to learn the presentation training material.
- Allow facilitators to co-facilitate the presentation with other facilitators to familiarize themselves with presentation processes, flow, supplies, and key learning outcomes.
- Provide Facilitators with a checklist of items required for presenting, along with a facilitator start-up kit.
- Build overall facilitator confidence and competency.
